There's a lot to like in Ali's latest, "Highway," which is a gorgeously assembled, ambitious piece of work, although it doesn't coalesce into a holistically successful film. Go to Full Review

The film can't sustain a tone, wavering between realism and Bollywood hokum. Go to Full Review

Hermione R Jun 6, 2018 "Highway" is a movie that is well shot and well acted. The movie features one of Alia Bhatt's earlier performances but I would say it is among her best even today. However, as a whole, it just ends up being an average movie. This movie can really be a drag at times and it starts to feel like nothing is happening at a point. Yes, it looks very nice and is aesthetically pleasing, but it wasn't enough to keep my interest in some of the slower segments. The movie builds up to an effective final act that is the strongest part of it. This last bit shows great acting and ultimately makes the movie worth checking out. However, getting to this final segment can be a major drag. See more
