What to Know

Critics Consensus

Borderline unwatchable and unspeakably dull, Highlander III is a sloppy third installment that still somehow manages to mark a slight improvement over its predecessor.

Lambert is as uncharismatic as ever, while Van Peebles is as frightening as a wrestler in mock angry mood, and just as ridiculous. Go to Full Review

Dec 4, 2018 It was interesting to see Mako play a wizard again(Conan the Barbarian/Destroyer) an immortal wizard and a mentor of Connor. People claim that this movie is a carbon copy of the original. I disagree. Yes it shares alot of similar plot points. But this movie builds on the Highlander universe. We see the use of magic more prominently displayed. Which to me builds up the race of immortals in the minds of the viewers. With the view point that each immortal is different with different skills, abilities and yes even magical powers. This to me mirrors how we see immortals in the Series. For me this movie was an expansion on the lore of the universe which I enjoyed. See more
Hermione W Dec 24, 2017 A valiant effort to erase the lobotomy inducing H2 this straight to video, cheap imitation of the original is an awkwardly silly movie... could they not think of anything better than the villain being trapped in a cave for centuries?!? Beggars belief but not sure the writers have ever seen Highlander on this evidence. A cash in on a popular name. See more
Theodore W Sep 10, 2009 Pointless follow-up.
Theodore G Sep 24, 2006 151024 & 170503: This film makes an honest attempt at following up on the original Highlander (1986) but unfortunately slips into scenes reminiscent of Nightmare on Elm Street. In the film industry, it seems a sequel rarely does as well as its predecessor and, much like The Immortals, "There can be only one" applies here. With that, however, you will be much better served watching Mario Van Peebles' attempt at taking "The Prize" than anything found in the The Quickening (1992). Peebles does a believable job portraying Connor MacLeod's main nemesis Kane. Peebles makes a cool villain almost on the level of Victor Kruger, he even uses the same driving techniques to lure the Highlander. My only question is, why were Kane's sidekicks, who are also immortal, working with him? As experience has taught me, I just suggest you don't think too much or ask questions as I just did. The Sorcerer's storyline is a much more concerted attempt at staying true to the original Highlander and we should be grateful for that. In fact, I think it's about time for a re-make or sequel. Highlander, and The Socerer, both leave me feeling the same way I do when I watch The Quick and the Dead (1995). There is a lot of potential here waiting to be embraced by someone devoted to Connor MacLeod. See more
