My favorite performance in the film comes from Bruce Dern, enthusiastically loopy as the booze-soaked town doctor. You can rarely accuse Bruce Dern of phoning it in.

A perfectly serviceable Western featuring a comfortingly familiar storyline, Hickok will tide genre fans over until more substantial offerings come along.

The legendary Wild West gunslinger rides again in this unabashedly retrograde oater.

Hickok is like that: it tends to skip potentially interesting story developments, probably due to the way-too-short runtime.

A tense and satisfying Western. But you do have to check your realistic expectations at the door.

Despite some stylish shootouts, this mildly compelling if haphazardly assembled oater lacks historical context and fires too many narrative blanks.

Horrible! The only things good about this movie were the sets and the acting by the more seasoned actors. Other than that, don't waste your time or money on this movie.

A cliche western that doesn't take any risks and totally sticks to the blueprint. The main character isn't special enough to pull it off as its hard to get behind his back. The acting isn't a problem and the cinematography is good too. Its not a bad movie... its just ok... but watchable if you're desperate for a western.

Don't waste your time. I'm not sure what this film wanted to be, never really taking any direction, a bit hammy, a bit funny, a bit trying to be gritty, doesn't commit to anything so just loses it's way.

Nonsense plotting and hammy acting combine for 88 minutes of doldrums.
