Exaggerated, infuriating, and about as funny as a root canal without anesthesia. Go to Full Review
Gary Goldstein Los Angeles Times Nov 30, 2018
A raucous, wildly implausible, overlong jumble saddled by a host of misguided creative instincts. It's a potentially warm and delicate story that required a scalpel, but saw the blunt end of a sledgehammer instead. Go to Full Review
Bilge Ebiri New York Times Nov 30, 2018
To go with its bizarre plotting and shrill performances, the film seems to have been edited in a Cuisinart. But those are the least of its crimes. Go to Full Review

One of the worst films of 2018. Maudlin, clunky, contrived and painfully unfunny. A total misfire. The actors deserve better. Go to Full Review

There's no doubting the laudable intentions to confront the realities of Alzheimer's in an audience-friendly way, but the execution, frankly, verges on the catastrophic. Go to Full Review

Apr 26, 2019 This film stretches audience credibility in favour of wild rumpus but gets away with it due to it's charm and the heart wrenching bond between the two main characters. My favourite film of the year! See more
Anakin S Apr 21, 2019 Nick Nolte deserves a nomination for an Oscar as predicted. His daughter was brilliant and the rest of the cast were excellent in support. Full of tears and laughter with so many thought provoking moments. Best film of the year so far. See more
Albus R Mar 24, 2019 Nolte and the cast are playing marvelous! Comedic and frustrating at the same time. Great scenery and change of pace. Got to see movie ! See more
Kylo R Mar 20, 2019 I didn't expect much when I went into the cinema - I was just interested in Nick Nolte's performance, since he hasn't been in a major movie in years. There is a case of Alzheimers in my family and I was sceptical, if the comedic tone would fit the heavy topic. But when the credits rolled, I was blown away! Yes, the story is not realistic - but which film is nowadays? It's more like a modern day fairy tale, which was really refreshing. The film handles the illness quite well - There are of course funny moments, some with slapstick humor, but there is also a fair share drama involved, which, in my opinion, shows how the affected and their friends and family can deal with dementia. The performances were great and heartfelt - Nick Nolte shines and brings gravitas to the film, but the film's star is definitely Sophia Lane Nolte, who brings lights up the screen, especially in the scenes with her real life father. Casting sons or daughters of Hollywood Stars can be hit or miss, but here it was an inspired choice. What else? The film looks and sounds great, South Tyrol seems like a great travel destination and I'll download the soundtrack as soon as it's out. So, go watch it, it's a great film with a lot of heart!
