Frank Scheck The Hollywood Reporter Feb 11, 2017
Despite the strong efforts of everyone involved, Havenhurst proves all too unimaginative in its formulaic recycling of genre tropes. Go to Full Review
Kimber Myers Los Angeles Times Feb 9, 2017
"Havenhurst" never has as much fun with its premise as it should, and it peaks before its final scenes. Go to Full Review
Dennis Harvey Variety Feb 4, 2017
Never quite finds a distinctive narrative slant or atmosphere of its own. Nonetheless, director-co-scenarist Andrew C. Erin's film will pass the time tolerably enough for genre fans. Go to Full Review

Havenhurst evokes some dread, but it's ultimately basic-model horror, without the proper planning to make it anything more. Go to Full Review
Bradley Gibson Film Threat Mar 1, 2017
2/10
The only real horror of Havenhurst is that someone got this much budget for a film without a script. Go to Full Review
Felix Vasquez Jr. Cinema Crazed Feb 21, 2017
It's at best, a mediocre genre entry as everything feels very low stakes, and nothing is ever logically resolved or given a satisfying conclusion. Go to Full Review

Rey S Dec 7, 2018 Preposterous from start to finish. If the NY cops were really that naive and stupid the City would have burned to the ground long ago. From the first second sheï¿ 1/2 1/2(TM)s on the screen you have to know old lady Mudgett is batshit crazy., sheï¿ 1/2 1/2(TM)s just lucky enough to have a replica of the Winchester House and two mentally challenged sons to support her dismal efforts to pass as a normal human being. Tries to be atmospheric but itï¿ 1/2 1/2(TM)s just tired and dull. And the anemic plot is served perfectly by the kid acquiescing to become old lady Mudgett #2. As stated previously - preposterous! Aug 25, 2018 The story was okay, but became ridiculous as soon as you realize the scope and BREAdth of what happened at HAVENHURst. See more
Albus M Sep 8, 2017 I found this to be a surprisingly good movie. It caught and held my attention, which isn't easy as I'm an ADD sufferer. I am also a serial killer addict. Without knowing as much as I do about H.H.Holmes, not a single scene in this movie would have made sense. Mudgett is pretty obscure, so I doubt the average person would know much about him. That's certain to change with the release of DiCaprio's new movie; however, this movie was made in 2016. I have to wonder why the producers did not provide background on Holmes. Serious oversight that could have made the difference between a good movie and a great one! See more
Draco M Aug 24, 2017 Ouch.....was this bad.Boring story and a pitiful ending but hey,its better then going to the dentist.
Ron R Aug 17, 2017 I've definitely seen worse but I've seen way better. A combination of bad acting and a weird script. The basic premise seems creepy enough and the supporting actors were decent, I just couldn't get past the main role. So blah. Kinda ruined it See more
Hermione S Aug 7, 2017 I've seen worse movies than this one, but it does not mean that it's a great movie or a good one, it's just daunting when you have nothing to watch. Good plot, but the production could be better, the characters are empty uninteresting, but the suspense leaves us wondering how this will end. See more
