Tree Gelbman is a blissfully self-centered collegian who wakes up on her birthday in the bed of a student named Carter. As the morning goes on, Tree gets the eerie feeling that she's experienced the events of this day before. When a masked killer suddenly takes her life in a brutal attack, she once again magically wakes up in Carter's dorm room unharmed. Now, the frightened young woman must relive the same day over and over until she figures out who murdered her.

Critics Consensus

Happy Death Day puts a darkly humorous sci-fi spin on slasher conventions, with added edge courtesy of a starmaking performance from Jessica Rothe.

Happy Death Day isn't particularly scary, and clearly isn't meant to be - the pleasure lies in the games it plays with its basic storyline, along the way tossing in enough offbeat humour and whodunnit twists to keep us entertained.

On another level, Happy Death Day is a low-key celebration of cinema. Landon and Lobdell revel in how their story could only happen in the movies, piling on preposterous complications with self-aware glee.

It's about time we had a fun, fast, and femme-led time loop movie for this millennium. The slasher is easy, breezy, and deadly as it wastes no time getting to its end game.

Happy Death Day is a blast, a pure delight. It perfectly straddles the lines between comedy, horror, and romance, somehow juggling all of these genres to create a breezy romp of a movie. It’s a well-deserved addition to the time loop genre.

The tongue-in-cheek approach by the filmmakers and their willingness to laugh at themselves makes this a better experience than the corny title would have you believe.

the movie doesn't take himself so seriously and he had some good character development

This movie sucks. I watched It because it had a 72% rotten tomatoes rating. It's unoriginal, boring, and worst of all it isn't scary other than like two jump scares.

I loved it. It was awful, horror movie wise, but I loved it. Her confidence was a little funny, but inspiring. If you're watching this for a horror movie, it's not great.

I wasn't really interested in watching this. I'm not a horror fan, but is this a horror movie? I thought so until I heard a review calling it more of a comedy. Having loads of time to kill due to an accident I decided to give it a go. Not one of the greats but entertaining enough. Once you start liking Tree and Carter (Yes, I assumed he took advantage. My bad.) you want more of them. So yes, I'll check out the sequel.

Una trama comica y entretenida, pero en si no termina convenciendo que es una pelicula de terror, parece mas un videojuego de aventura donde debes descubrir cual es tu asesino, pero eres tan malo jugando que mueres a cada rato...
