Lenny Feder moves his family back to his hometown to be with his friends, but he finds -- what with old bullies, new bullies, party crashers and more -- that he hasn't left the crazy life behind in Los Angeles. Lenny's friends must also cope with their own challenges: Eric must face his ultimate fear; Kurt has gone back to work as a cable repairman; and Marcus learns that he has an 18-year-old son.

Critics Consensus

While it's almost certainly the movie event of the year for filmgoers passionate about deer urine humor, Grown Ups 2 will bore, annoy, and disgust audiences of nearly every other persuasion.

Sandler's films have always been stupid, but the early stuff is pretty harmless; here the jokes almost always come at the expense of someone else, the kind of needless bullying one expects of a YouTube comment section.

[A] slothful, indulgent sequel that sees a once-great screen comedian hit self-inflicted Sandlergeddon.

Rob Schneider, the butt of many jokes in the first Grown-Ups, is nowhere to be seen. Salma Hayek, as Lenny's wife, looks understandably tense and irritable throughout.

However, strip away the rare moments of humility and championing of small town life and you're left with what is simply a series of sexist and scatological vignettes...

This film incited more facepalms and head-shakes than laughs, and the script feels like something Sandler could have scribbled on the palm of his hand.

Grown Ups 2 won't please a good majority of the film critics, but it's not a film for the film critics.

Grown Ups 2 is funny, delightful and charming, with heart and humor to spare. It should not be missed by audience of any ages, particularly those who are interested in hilarious fart (and urine) jokes.

If you think a deer urinating in Adam Sandler's mouth is funny, then you'll love this film.

One star for Selma and Sandler getting kicked in the head.

Even worse than the original Grown Ups, Grown Ups 2 is grosser, more immature, and overall stupider than any film should be. At least we get to see Taylor Lautner get assaulted by a deer.

Well yes, it has several funny scenes, but if that was all I'm looking for, I would've watched one of those funny compilation videos on YouTube instead. This movie lacks a story and a meaning. Don't waste your time.
