What to Know

Critics Consensus

Grease 2 is undeniably stocked with solid songs and well-choreographed dance sequences, but there's no getting around the fact that it's a blatant retread of its far more entertaining predecessor.

A sequel rivalled only by Ecorcist II for testing the agony threshold of the audience. Go to Full Review

I actually quite liked the lively, spoofy spirit of Grease 1, but this copy doesn't get it together despite its endless, relentlessly jolly song and dance routines. Go to Full Review

Consistently embarrassing, Grease 2 may please those who didn't see the original, but for the rest of us, it's strictly a case of déjà vu. Go to Full Review

Mar 15, 2019 Only reason it got a 1/2 star, was because the first one helped it a bit. Other than that, this is a horrible sequel See more
Harry S Jan 25, 2019 The only reason they have a 33 is because of Michelle Pfeiffer and Frenchieâ(TM)s cameo See more
Leia S Dec 19, 2018 It's so awful, I thought it was intended to be a farce of the original. It's so bad, it's funny. See more
Harry W Oct 2, 2018 despite some beautiful songs and well done choreographies.Grease 2 was a disappointment compared to its predecessor.presents a predictable plot, sexist dialogues and almost repeats the same story from the first sequel. When I first saw it I thought it was good, but when I watched it for the second time comparing with the first one I found it much lower, even Michelle Pfeiffer as the beginning of her career. George W Sep 28, 2018 If you go into this movie expecting to see "Grease", then you will not be impressed. Sure, the school is the same, the stables of "the T birds" and "the Pink Lady's" are still there with some characters from the first one rehashed as well, This movie does get a lot of criticism, as people tend to compare it to its predecessor, which is not fair...to an extent. Though the story is generally the same as the first one, it is not told the same however, rather than two people changing to try to win the love of the other, "Grease 2" only really sees one person trying to change to win the other. This movie is long, some of the dance numbers are vastly drawn out for what seems like no reason. The music is not terrible and performed well, with the given material. The same can be said about the acting. The actors do a decent job with the given material. Director Patrica Birch (who also worked on the first one) does a passable job as director, in fact, the direction is not bad at all with the story she was working with. If you go in expecting to see the first one, you will not enjoy it. As a child, I loved this movie, as I also loved the first one. Now, as an adult, I would not say I still love it, but it is enjoyable to watch. Its worth watching at least once, if you are into musicals. If you found the first one to just be "okay", do not watch it, you will hate it. See more
Leia R Aug 13, 2018 I loved this movie! It was so much better, then the 1st one! I love the whole movie from beginning to the end! I loved Michelle Pfeiffer, she was my favorite one in this movie! See more
