Sinbad is light, silly fun, and kids will probably appreciate both the skillful technique of the fantasy and the fact that the film makers have had the good sense not to include a single -- yecchh! -- kissing scene.

[Its] main raison d'etre is some first-rate "Dynamation" special effects from Ray Harryhausen.

The magnitude of the creatures and combat are unfortunately unable to match the first film, though this indirect sequel is still a highly entertaining production.

In some ways this was more enjoyable than The 7th Voyage of Sinbad. Harryhausen' work is the centerpiece, of course. Hall delivers a fairly charismatic performance as our hero and Munro makes for a stunning love interest.
