Critics Consensus

A grimy, humorless glimpse of Steven Seagal's direct-to-video future, Glimmer Man fails to shine.

John Gray's The Glimmer Man is strictly for Steven Seagal fans (if there is such a species). Go to Full Review

Although this slick Seagal action pic won't convert die-hard detractors, aficionados will note that he's both gained weight and lightened up. Go to Full Review

The plot of The Glimmer Man involves not only the Family Man but Our Evil Secret Government, the Russian Mafia and Rich Powerful Politicians -- the three stooges of action cinema in the '90s. Go to Full Review

Seagal gives us a fairly good Bruce Lee impression in a film that is more moronic than it should be. Go to Full Review

Poe W Aug 25, 2018 When I think of an Objectively Good Movie, Well Directed & Criminally Underrated.... The Glimmer Man is the 1st thing that comes to mind. Pay attention to the movie its a buddy cop movie throughout & starts off as a comedy but becomes serious toward the middle & end when Seagal found out his Ex-wife was killed, Seagal & Wayans dodging the Russian Mafia, tracking down who set them up & being 5 steps ahead of the curve, smart characters who connect dots & think logically. The "Forensic" aspect of this film is what makes it so compelling, discovering how the Family Man thinks & The Glimmer Man bringing him to justice is what this film gets right on so many levels. Hagrid W Aug 17, 2017 A messy and rather stupid police procedural that somehow involves a serial killer, the Russian mob, a shady government operative, and a sinister rich guy. Of course it all ties together! Burning question: If the movie takes place in LA why is it always raining? See more
