Abraham W Jun 3, 2017 Great Movie!! Could watch it over and over again.
Rey R Feb 18, 2017 Ginger Snaps Back: The Beginning is the 3rd film in the Ginger Snaps trilogy but is a prequel to the original film taking place in the 1800s. I'm gonna be honest. I love this movie even tho it has a lot of bad things about it. I love the 1800s setting. It's such a perfect setting for a werewolf movie even tho it really makes no sense in this franchise. The werewolf are once agin really cool beasts with good practical effects and design. Our main characters are once again excellent in their roles and have great chemistry together. As for the other characters a lot of them are very poorly written to the point of absurdity. Performance wise everyone gives a fairly good performance despite some bad writing. The whole story itself I found to be interesting altho it doesn't really lead to much other then to tell us things we basically already know and robs us of a true conclusion to the franchise. I still really enjoy this movie despite its massive flaws. I may be a bit biased in this score so take it with a grain of salt but I give it a 4/5. I definitely recommend it. See more
Rey S May 16, 2016 Released the exact same year as Ginger Snaps 2, this film is, for some strange reason, a prequel rather than a second sequel. I can't, for the life of me, understand why a prequel was greenlit when the second movie ended on a cliffhanger. It's such a terribly wasted opportunity. With that out of the way, this movie's biggest issue is that its completely pointless. It doesn't expand on the previous two films, and it doesn't even really do a whole lot with the series's lore. Granted, it is nice to see Katharine Isabelle and Emily Perkins sharing the screen again. Their chemistry is still on point and they make the most of the material. It's just very unfortunate that they're saddled with forced dialogue and a subpar script. The set design, makeup, and costumes do look really nice however considering the lower budget. The idea of setting the majority of the movie in a wooded outpost during wintertime creates a really tense atmosphere and sense of isolation; perfect for a horror movie. Once again though, the underwritten script just gives way to boring characters and a ho-hum story to carry it. While by no means awful, Ginger Snaps Back is a very disappointing way to end the series. Aside from looking nice, there's really no point in seeing this film at all. Even fans of the first movie will likely not get much of anything from this. Best to skip it. See more
