In April 1945, the Allies are making their final push in the European theater. A battle-hardened Army sergeant named Don "Wardaddy" Collier, leading a Sherman tank and a five-man crew, undertakes a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Hopelessly outnumbered, outgunned and saddled with an inexperienced soldier in their midst, Wardaddy and his men face overwhelming odds as they move to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany.

The scenes that attempt to humanize the protagonists, while also portraying the darker side of war, are too contrived. But the raw battle scenes are riveting...but you cannot ignore the script's moral high ground.

This film is about a tank squad during WWII, and it's pretty good. A positive note is that this movie is different from other WWII movies because it shows and focuses on how to and what it takes to run a tank and I thought that was pretty cool. The cast is very good and unique. Each character has personality different from the others making them not stale and the conversations they share are interesting. The action is solid, it isn't Saving Private Ryan or Hacksaw Ridge, but it is neat due to the fact they are fighting in a tank and making use of all the accessories on it. The movie never got boring, but towards the middle there was a small scene that I lost interest in. The ending, in my opinion, was very good and heartfelt, despite having to wait two and a half hours for it.

Awesome, and deep under my skin.... if it was only about the styling and the gruesomeness, this movie would merit a much lower rating. But the psychology runs much deeper and touches one at the heart... the warn-worn tank crew and the fresh naive - but not for long - rookie show us how one and the same person can be cruel and brutal as well asfriendly and compassionate not just from one moment to another, but also to one and the same of his mates. It also shows us the weirdest, but realistic, happenings of war. And the actors, well, equally impressive. It left me both impressed and shocked

technically well made movie - but inside not better then original nazi propaganda wochenschau -I wonder darth vader did not show up choking braindead SS Soldiers to death with the rest banging with their helmets together while running in circles blindfolded. would have been even more historical correct with master yoda jumping around: Back, I will be!
