Laurent is a married businessman who has no qualms over stepping outside his marriage, believing his wife, Loli, is fine being none the wiser. While he has one fling after another, Loli takes care of their house and children -- but this pattern is about to change. One day, a van breaks down outside their house, bringing Marijo, a lesbian DJ, into their lives. As it turns out, Loli takes a liking to Marijo and starts an affair of her own.

Set aside the subject matter, and French Twist is as simple, as moronic and as uninteresting as the American "dumb and dumber" movies. Go to Full Review

A madcap French comedy that breaks the traditional formula of a love triangle. Go to Full Review

The bottom line is that French Twist is infinitely more challenging in its sexual politics than [La Cage aux Folles]. In Balasko’s world, sexual orientation is infinitely more fluid than we supposed. Go to Full Review

Anakin R Jan 14, 2017 An unhappily married housewife (Victoria Abril) falls for a lesbian drifter (director Josiane Balasko) at the same time she learns of her husband's serial infidelities ... so she asks the lesbian to move in with them. Clearly intended as a satire, but none of the characters are recognizable as real people, which really hurts any satirical force this might have had. See more
