What to Know

Critics Consensus

This undercooked, sporadically funny road movie is a sop to Star Wars fanatics, but the uninitiated will find little to enjoy.

in a manner that is both thoroughly entertaining and slyly confronting, FanBoys ends up being an affectionate lampoon of its own viewers and the lives that they live through the movies that they watch. Go to Full Review

For those who get a gag like 'Looking for love in Alderaan places?' you don't have to worry if the movie is on your level or not. Go to Full Review

Buoyed by infectious high spirits and self-deprecating humour, the film works in strange and perhaps unintentional ways, thanks largely to the sustained energy of the lead actors, and writers Ernest Cline and Adam F. Goldberg. Go to Full Review

I didn’t dislike Fanboys because I can’t identify with its subject; I disliked it because it wasn’t at all good. Go to Full Review

A film that entertains in the right measure, and that is audacious with funny theories about Luke and Leia. [Full Review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Harry P Dec 31, 2018 Good comedy for the nerds. It definitely had it's moments humor-wise and it also had the complete package location-wise. Good cast with class acts as well. See more
Apr 12, 2018 Mostly a tribute roadmovie that has a few good laughs and about 5 quotable lines to remember. Not unenjoyable but could have been better. See more
Feb 3, 2018 A funny story that touches on many Star War fanboy stereotypes and our continuing war with dirty dirty Trekkies. The movie doesn't take itself seriously and I feel many critics have done for its tomato score to be so low (Trekkies no doubt). Its a movie by geek, for geeks (not Trekkie nerds) :) See more
Anakin S Jan 24, 2018 Great re-watch value and a funny, enjoyable movie. Has its flaws but i love it
Jan 9, 2018 It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good enough too. If you are Star Wars fan, "Fanboys" is definitely for you. I liked some jokes like Star Wars vs Star Terk fans. I don't recomend watching trailer. Just watch movie. It has good story, great cast and trash compacter as well. See more
