What to Know

Critics Consensus

As much fun as it is to see Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger team up onscreen, Escape Plan fails to offer much more than a pale imitation of 1980s popcorn thrills.

As implausible macho nonsense goes, it's surprisingly good. Go to Full Review

The most surprising thing about this movie, outside of its length, is just how unsurprising it really is, especially regarding its tired climax. Go to Full Review

This functional thumper generally gets the job done, plodding merrily, if unremarkably, through the generic set pieces, making a passable fist of well-worn material. Go to Full Review

Overall, it's fun, it's cheesy, it's chaotic and it's good. You gotta love these guys together. Go to Full Review

After the finale degrades into a violent shootout and leaves us dissatisfied, not even solid portrayals by Stallone and Schwarzenegger make Escape Plan anything beyond a very, very guilty piece of actionized entertainment. Go to Full Review

Abraham W Apr 27, 2019 Just an all around awesome movie! I don't care what some others may say about this movie, it was simply fantasic with the just right amount added twist that the main plot needed. It was like a mix of Rambo with the expendables! Just fantastic! See more
Draco R Mar 19, 2019 This film is stupid and smart at the same time.
Mar 6, 2019 Stallone and Schwarzenegger is ok, but the story is si so, and to little bang bang action for my taste, but is great to see these icons together See more
Poe L Feb 24, 2019 It's amazing how long it took to get Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger to star in a film together but it was worth the wait. While it's not the best action movie out there it is fun seeing The Terminator and Rambo headlining a film together. A decent premise with good action and the script is not bad either. The movie would've been a lot bigger if it had come out in the 80's and originally Face/Off was written for them but that movie needed the charismatic acting that John Travolta and Nicolas Cage brought to it and with Escape Plan it was the perfect script for them and there was no need to be charismatic here. Finn W Feb 16, 2019 Stallone and Arnie obviously got pally after their Expendables films so here's yet another tough man movie that pits them as allies, fighting a band of hardened prison wardens that use any technique to prevent their inmates from escaping their hidden confinement. Only problem is, these inmates are cons who's careers have been derived from testing the security of jails, so they know every trick in the book with regards to foiling the system. It's a decent movie that tries to make itself more hip with the inclusion of 50 'Fiddy' Cent. See more
Finn S Jan 9, 2019 ESCAPE PLAN stars Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger as the two attempt to escape a high-security, black-site prison facility that technically doesn't exist. Filled with suspense that makes you sweat, a tense premise and a fun idea carried out until the end, ESCAPE PLAN makes for a satisfying movie. See more
