Critics Consensus

A poorly developed plot weighs down any potential chemistry between the movie's leads.

Entrapment has endured in many people’s hearts and minds precisely because of (or is that despite?) its preposterous plot and “memorable” imagery. Go to Full Review

The film itself isn't too bad as far as Hollywood thrillers go, but if Connery wasn't always there defying the ageing process, you'd probably be reaching for the remote control. Go to Full Review

Harry M Sep 5, 2018 Amazing movie. Highly underrated. Just watched it again after almost 20 years and it still holds it's value and would hold its own against most of the garbage from the past 2 decades. I wish they still made them like this. See more
Albus S Apr 4, 2018 The romance between Connery and Zeta-Jones is rather disturbing because of their differences in age. If you're into that sort of thing, I won't stop you. But it's still something I'd expect more out of an R-rated comedy about a womanizer rather than a serious heist flick. Also, the plot is slightly cliched. To think that the people who HAVE heard of this movie, only talk about Catherine Zeta-Jones' ass. NIce butt but I didn't watch Entrapment because of dat Welsh ass but because I wanted to watch it for the sake of watching it. The performances are pretty good, since Sean Connery is a joy to watch, the heist sequences are cool and, to be honest, the movie is appealing in its own strange way. Entrapment is understandably overlooked but it's still a blast. See more
Han W Feb 8, 2018 Everything was in place for a really fun heist movie, what is delivered is lacking and frankly a little dull. The only memorable shots are of Catherine Zeta Jones in skin tight attire avoiding tripwires... See more
Anakin R Jan 13, 2018 i said this is called entrapment.. Entrapment Entrapment is no genius heist movie that offers a lot to think about but it definitely offers some fun popcorn time with great twists and action and most importantly edgy characters. See more
Harry R Jan 25, 2011 Its not unfair to say that the best thing about this whole film is 'that ass'... Its not to suggest that its a bad movie, and apart from the cheesy/sappy ending its all quite entertaining. There are some clever twists too. Still, its worth watching just for that one shot... a whole new meaning of Entrapment. "Gin: I said this is called entrapment. Mac: No, actually it's called blackmail. Entrapment is what cops do to thieves." See more
