What to Know

Critics Consensus

Sappy, dull, and muddled, Dragonfly is too melancholic and cliched to generate much suspense.

Harry R Sep 20, 2018 Wonderful movie and refreshing to see something different.
Leia S Jun 9, 2018 A solid movie that will keep you watching.
Rey G Feb 17, 2018 I liked the premise of the film & the comment about 'many levels of consciousness' with regard to anesthitists putting people under to just the right degree was poignant. Semler's beautiful camera work added visual depth & atmosphere. The supporting cast were very good, especially Bates. The main downsides for me were Costner's trademark wooden acting, the OTT moment when he leapt of the cliff at gunpoint, & his trite narration at the end. With a strong actor in the lead role it could have been a good film. See more
Theodore L Nov 14, 2017 Doctor and husband, Joe (Kevin Kostner) loses his wife in some South American jungle without her body found. He then goes on a strange odyssey indicating to him that his wife is still alive as a result of seeing signs involving dragonflies and near fatal deaths among his patients. See more
Han G Feb 23, 2017 The only thing that could make this sappy mess any worse would be Kevin Costner narrating it, which he actually does, in the last minute of the film, thereby delivering a merciful deathblow. Not "Battlefield Earth" awful, but still awful. See more
