When the first outbreak of the Reaper virus hit Scotland, Eden Sinclair was one of the last to escape containment and had to leave her mother behind. Twenty-five years later, Maj. Eden Sinclair (Rhona Mitra) leads a team back into the hot zone to find a counteragent to the virus, which has re-emerged in London. What to Know

Critics Consensus

Doomsday is a pale imitation of previous futuristic thrillers, minus the cohesive narrative and charismatic leads.

Marc Savlov Austin Chronicle Oct 19, 2018
2.5/5
[It] may not have anything new to bring to the gallows, but what it does have is Marshall's deadly serious tone (one suspects Marshall could direct Robin Williams and Christopher Walken in Waiting for Godot and come out of it with his genre cred intact) Go to Full Review

As it slogs through one hectic yet mundane set pieces after another, the film slowly drowns in its own pool of clichs. Go to Full Review

The look of the picture is atmospheric and perfectly terrifying, but the eventual clashes and tragedies involve generic soldiers barely worthy of individual names. Go to Full Review
Jason Best Movie Talk Nov 4, 2020
Marshall's pilfering is brazen... but his movie is such an exhilarating, hell-for-leather ride that by the time you spot borrowings from Excalibur and Gladiator you'll probably applaud him for his cheek. Go to Full Review

Hermione R Apr 7, 2019 Totally badass and definitely entertaining! Have watched it more than once and enjoy it every time. Super creative
Albus W Aug 28, 2018 This movie is going in several different directions at once. Between Mad Max, 28 Days Later, & Escape from New York, the director couldn't decide which one to rip off, so he went with all of them. See more
Han W Jun 2, 2018 Pros: Some powerful imagery At times very strong plot Cons:Bland Style Over the top action isn't done justice because of its poor stylistic camera work Weak character development See more
Finn R Apr 6, 2018 Tremendously fun and thrilling film that doesn't take itself seriously. Doomsday draws many great ideas from the best post-apocalyptic movies and I would recommend this to any viewer that loves this genre. See more
Leia W Mar 28, 2018 This movie reminds me of a mix of mad max and an average medieval film in a resident evil universe, but directed by a monkey on very hard drugs. See more
George W Feb 1, 2018 I give it average score, plenty of action but not very believable.
