The overly long Don 2 falls short on two key points -- the screenplay and Khan's performance.

It's a slick journey across Thailand, Malaysia, Switzerland and Germany which even manages to refer to the current Euro crisis.

Director Farhan Akhtar's skill at creating slickness is by now such a given, that you'd notice only if it was absent. But creating excitement, the kind of thrill-a-minute, edge-of-the-seat stuff this kind of a film needs, is missing.

SRK gets to play the bad boy again in DON 2 and that can be fun at times. But overall, this overly long Indian OCEAN’S ELEVEN meets MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE offshoot is just a bit too bland.

In Don 2, SRK takes the self-effacing tone [of Don] forward, and the sparks between his Don and Priyanka Chopra's Roma turn to a raging blaze.

I think that "Don 2" is more self-aware than its predecessor, and that's why it is slightly more watchable. It is far from a great movie, but it had enough entertaining moments that I was fine with sitting through it one time. However, like its predecessor, the story is ludicrous and the movie again gives us no reason to care about anything or anyone. The bottom line is that this movie works best when it isn't trying to take itself too seriously, because in the moments that it does, I couldn't help but roll my eyes. There are better action movies and there are certainly better heist movies out there.

Don 2 delivers the goods, it is impressive all the way, but somehow feels flat. With his aim to make it bigger, Farhan Akhtar makes it relentless. He breaks rules, gives us one of the longest, full-blown action climaxes in memory post Lagaan. And yeah the Don-Roma chemistry increasingly reminds us of the other infamous pair Clarice Starling - Hannibal Lector. I'm nitpicking, don't miss it coz THE KING IS BACK!
