Even with all the nods and winks, the derivations and homages, Detour is good dirty fun. Go to Full Review

A watchable young cast, led by Brooklyn's Emory Cohen, and some time-shifting narrative shenanigans can't quite rescue Detour from the annals of also-ran western noir. Go to Full Review

Sheridan, Cohen and Powley are a terrific trio in a stylish crime thriller that takes us on a trip through the seedy side of California and beyond. Go to Full Review

The film develops in a way that could have gone gimmicky but works here, something in great part due to the editing by Kristina Hetherington and cinematography by Christopher Ross. Go to Full Review

George G May 9, 2018 If you're going to interleave alternate timelines, don't randomly switch between two different Mustangs! That really confuses things and greatly distracts from what would otherwise be a solid, nicely stylised road trip thriller. See more
Finn G Apr 4, 2018 This movie doesn't quite get where it's trying to go, but the performances and direction are top notch.
Theodore W Nov 1, 2017 Being a great filmmaker doesn't necessarily make you a great storyteller. Like most detours, this film was an annoying waste of time. See more
Ron R Oct 13, 2017 A better than decent low budget movie about the overly done story of the scumbag, white knight and slut didn't really offer enough freshness to warrant a higher rating. Worth a watch if there is not much else you don't have any favorites that you've been feeling like watching lately. See more
Rey R Sep 17, 2017 Reasonable film and story but confusing and difficult for me to follow at times
Poe S Jul 24, 2017 Very good movie. The plot is written very well. I haven't seen a film like that for a long time in which I was genuinely surprised with the writing. It has a lot of suspense and engaging content. The dialouge is very good, the acting is very good. The styilisation is good, the movie looks good. It covers a range of topics, there is genuine emotion and empathy for the characters. There are surprises and it is all pulled off professionally. Really, a surprisingly good movie. See more
