Memorable songs and excellent casting help turn Descendants into a decidedly wicked musical romp.

Descendants moves quickly through its two-hour-long running time, builds momentum off of a handful of peppy tunes, and delivers a colorful confection that's sure to impress the younger crowd. Go to Full Review
Brian Lowry Variety Sep 9, 2019
The movie boasts a stronger, more assured story than most of the recent youth-oriented live-action musicals Disney has offered, with plenty of brightly colored bells and whistles as well as songs that range from Broadway to rap. Go to Full Review

Will Descendants create the next Zac Efron or Vanessa Hudgens? Of the crowd, [Dove] Cameron seems to have the most star potential. Go to Full Review

The lesson of Descendants is to choose love instead of hate. Those are definitely lessons worth learning, even if they are dressed in song and dance numbers and simplistic dialogue. Go to Full Review

At 111 minutes, Descendants feels too long and overly tactical. Go to Full Review

This much-anticipated fairy tale add-on isn't perfect, but it's highly entertaining in the kind of young-love, flash-mob, song-and-dance manner that tends to thrill the youngsters Go to Full Review

Harry R Apr 17, 2019 Less painful to stab my eye out with a fork Terribly overacted, thin, cringeworthy crap.
Apr 5, 2019 This movie is awful. 1) the acting is dreadful, I've seen better from my little brothers kindergarten end of year performance. 2) the plot line is terrible. The concept is great, but the way that Disney channel produce it was not. It could have been an amazing movie about self worth and knowing who you truly are, instead it was some spoiled brats getting some outcasts into their kingdom, falling in love and fighting a terrible C.G. dragon. I'm pretty sure C.G was in the budget. The music was mildly good, but that did not make up for the bad acting, bad story line and the general badness. The costumes were alright, that was probably the best part about the movie if I am going to be honest. I would recommend this movie for like 6 year olds, but any older then it becomes boring. Draco R Mar 28, 2019 Occasionally superb and with great wit; Cameron/Chenowth are a formidable pair
Finn M Jan 7, 2019 Dislikable characters, terrible dynamics and bad motives, this movie fails in every way
