Frankly, it's all tedious on the western front in this bum-numbing bore. Go to Full Review

A ambientao chuvosa e lamacenta cria uma atmosfera claustrofbica, mas o roteiro e os personagens estereotipados no conseguem utiliz-la de forma inteligente. Go to Full Review

Acting, directing, and production values - all very solid. But there are a couple of major problems that keep Deathwatch from reaching it's full potential Go to Full Review

It's horror crossed with a war movie, and if you suspect this might mean it consists of men running around in mud while eerie music plays on the soundtrack, you would be correct. Go to Full Review

Hagrid R Jan 19, 2019 Techically unimpressive, but an interesting story well-acted.
Kylo M Oct 27, 2017 Well acted, directed, and shot, Deathwatch feels like it could be an extended episode of The Twilight Zone. It doesn't quite live up to its thought provoking premise, and the early 2000s CGI looks fake as shit, but those are minor complaints. The film blends war and horror together fairly well, and the score is criminally underrated, successfully helping to build tension. Not all of the acting is good, but most of the actors give strong performances. Jamie Bell completely nails the gradual loss of innocence of Charlie, Andy Serkis is perfectly deranged and crazy as Quinn, Torben Liebrecht is fantastic as German prisoner Friedrich, Hugo Speer is great as the desperately sane Sergeant Tate, and Laurence Fox does an incredible job of showing different type of insanity as Captain Jennings. The scares don't always work, but they usually do. Topping it all off is and ending whose meaning is up for interpretation, making the film surprisingly rewatchable. See more
Abraham S Jan 30, 2017 The execution and screenplay is a little choppy, but it's compensated by great actors, a very gloomy, gritty and terrifying war atmosphere, and has a real camp feel to it. Reminds me a lot of the Italian low budget exploitation horror movies that were made during the 70's and 80's. And the passion of the actors to act in the middle of the rain and mud is pretty honorable. Overall, it's not a groundbreaking flick, but it deserves a bit of recognition. See more
