Dear Zindagi is a bumpy ride but, all things considered, it's still one worth taking -- especially for the sheer pleasure of watching Alia soar. Go to Full Review

Dear Zindagi strikes a conversation surrounding mental health that remains an exhausting taboo in the majority of Indian society. Go to Full Review

Dear Zindagi then is a mixed bag. I loved SRK in the film, Bhatt is always a pleasure to watch...overall though, the film comes across as being not enough because the writing needed more substance. Go to Full Review

Luke S Nov 24, 2018 For someone who gave us Sridevi in a new avatar and a movie like English Vinglish that one can watch like a zillion times...Dear Zindagi was a bit disappointing. Yes, it is a conversation starter of sorts with regards to mental health and therapy, but the movie lacks depth. I still remember the scene from English Vinglish where Sridevi leaves the NJ apartment all by herself for the first time and how she double checks the lock on the door. Now haven't we seen our moms do it?! Probably we have subconsciously picked it up too! That was the kind of attention to detail which is GauriS. And yet (assumingly) with all her extensive research and homework, the only solution provided in Dear Zindagi was - start communicating with your parents! Really? Like I needed a movie to tell me that! It just trivialised mental health and the very purpose it set out to serve. See more
Draco S May 28, 2018 Absolutely the best, every moment of it. So happy bollywood made my favourite movie ever.
Luke S Jan 6, 2018 It could be easy to dismiss this film as something that the Indian masses wouldn't be able to identify with. But I think the sort of issues that Kaira (played impressively by Alia Bhatt) and the cast portray here might just resonate with the emerging generation of educated, global, more open-minded Indians that are strutting their stuff the world over. Foreign audiences might appreciate this newer side of India that's reflected through the story. See more
Ron M Oct 18, 2017 good movie to be watching
Albus M Jul 10, 2017 The movie has strong messages about moving forward in your life and learning to forgive and forget. I thought the two main performances were great and the story as a whole was satisfying. I did find a lot of segments in the first half of the movie to be pretty slow paced and was bored here and there. However, the final act of the movie saves it and makes the experience worthwhile. There are some truly heartfelt scenes and story arcs that I really appreciated. It's a nice little drama that will break and warm your heart. I think it's worth checking out despite some pacing issues in the early parts of the movie. See more
