The depletion of the earth's ozone layer causes animals above the altitude of 5000 feet to begin attacking humans. A group of hikers led by Steve Buckner is trapped in the military quarantine zone and now must fight their way across the dangerous terrain to safety. Complicating matters is one of the hikers, Paul Jenson, a boorish advertising executive, who decides that he should take charge and go a separate way.

The dialogue is so hackneyed that the public chants the answer before the actor can even finish the question. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

While I tend to enjoy Girdler's work, this is one of his lesser efforts, with the only true entertainment coming from Leslie Nielsen's unhinged character. The animal attack scenes aren't very convincing and with not much of a story... Go to Full Review

Leslie Nielsen is a riot as the loathsome ad exec whose heretofore repressed alpha male explodes in a rage of macho manly manliness. Go to Full Review

A highly entertaining nature-goes-wild thriller. What's not to like about a movie where a macho, bare-chested Leslie Nielsen literally tries to fight a grizzly bear? Go to Full Review

Hagrid R Mar 18, 2019 Leslie Nielsen playing a bombastic racist? Surely you must be kidding! Sadly, I'm not, and don't call me hot shot, kemo sahbee. The movie is so poorly put together and so casually offensive, it would make even the most humane critic go "woof"---which I guess means that every dog doesn't have its day. See more
Kylo R Dec 20, 2018 I had high expectations, but I found it a disappointment. The film practically does not show the days of the animals, the casting was bad and the argument is very bad. I just give a note due to the scenes with animals and the landscapes. I do not recommend. See more
Finn W May 17, 2012 The one in which Leslie Nielsen wrestles a bear.
Hermione S Mar 31, 2012 Here we go again with another Jaws rip-off, right down to the font of the text that opens the movie explaining the plot to us before we can even get a chance to get involved in it. Day of the Animals is another in a long line of 'nature goes awry and attacks human beings' movies. However, this is a sort of reunion of sorts, as some of the actors (Christopher George and Richard Jaeckel), director and crew worked on Grizzly the year before, and they came back for more as they just couldn't seem to get enough of animals on a rampage - particularly bears on a rampage. This one also has some other interesting aspects to it. It has Lynda Day George and Paul Mantee in it, the latter one of my favorite actors, and it also has Leslie Nielsen, who turned in probably his most evil performance. The scene when he goes toe to toe in the rain shirtless with a grizzly bear must be seen to be believed. Anyway, it's not a great movie, but like always has some entertainment value for being so schlocky, so see it for that reason. I haven't yet seen the theatrical version entitled Something is Out There, but I'll put it on my list. See more
