Agent Ari Ben-Sion receives an assignment from Mossad to smuggle a chemical-weapons scientist out of Syria. When the mission goes wrong, Ben-Sion soon learns that he's a pawn in a much bigger plan.

Critics Consensus

Damascus Cover is essentially every bit the hackneyed espionage drama that any veteran of '90s action thrillers might expect after reading its title.

Director and star excel in this bleak view of a derelict man fighting his past, however the script weighs the film down and leaves us with very little which resonates.

It's the clunky screenplay and Jonathan Rhys Meyers's performance as an undercover German-Israeli agent that do the damage.
