Paul Marsh (Ezra Godden) is yachting on the Spanish coast with three companions when a freak storm causes their boat to founder on the rocks. Paul goes to a nearby village to get assistance, as two of his friends have been trapped in the boat's wreckage. He notices that the locals seem odd, and their behavior grows increasingly strange. When Paul begins seeing a mermaid (Macarena Gómez) who has appeared in his nightmares, he realizes that the fearful world of his dreams is now a reality.

Even with its obvious budgetary limitations, the strength of the source material results in an eerie and unique adaptation. Go to Full Review

The only reason this review describes "Dagon" as "one of the scariest movies ever made," instead of as "the scariest movie ever made," is because I haven't seen every film. Go to Full Review

Gordon knows what his audience wants, and time and again he proves a deft hand at giving it to them. Go to Full Review

For our money, Dagon is very possibly the best Lovecraft movie produced so far (we're overlooking Carpenter's underrated In The Mouth of Madness because that was only tentatively inspired by Lovecraft's mythos). Go to Full Review

Dagon isn't as outright funny as Gordon's Re-Animator or From Beyond, but it has moments of spunkiness to puncture the incredible strangeness of it all. Go to Full Review

Uma histria absurda que consegue gerar alguns bons momentos de tenso (especialmente em sua primeira metade, quando ainda no sabemos para onde o filme est caminhando). Go to Full Review

Luke S Sep 12, 2018 Typical B-movie fare. Cool creatures that aren't scary or that interesting. Looked like it had promise in the beginning before venturing off into B-movie territory. See more
Draco M Sep 10, 2018 A fun flick that does take a while to really get going, too bad the CG makes it look very dated. Especially fun to see for fans of Resident Evil 4. See more
Harry S Sep 2, 2018 Somehow Gordon captures his signature cheese, while providing a truly suspenseful, atmospheric, and sometimes brutal entry to his film career. As a hardcore Lovecraft fan, I also found this to be one of the best adaptations of his work. Some might complain that it lacks the humorous elements of Gordon's Reanimator, but I prefer a faithful adaptation with existential terror to a loose adaptation filled with comedic gore porn. Finn S Jul 30, 2018 Despite an arguably fun premise, this movie is truly terrible. Some of the worst sound design you will ever encounter met by a paper thin story with awful execution. The story is carried by the "run away from the monster" approach that builds to a nihilistic, but unearned twist/conclusion. See more
Jun 18, 2018 one of the best Cthulu Mythos movies made . great production values , good dialogue , all around great movie .
Kylo S Jun 8, 2018 Probably one of the most "Lovecraftian" adaption of a Lovecraft film ever made. Truly disturbing.
