What to Know

Critics Consensus

Creed II's adherence to franchise formula adds up to a sequel with few true surprises, but its time-tested generational themes still pack a solid punch.

Yes, Creed II is a boxing film. Yes, it is a story that we have seen played out at least seven previous times. But there is so much more under the surface, and that is where Creed II shines. Go to Full Review

In conclusion, Creed II is a solid film with a convincing performance of Michael B. Jordan who asserts himself in the character. This sequel is what the fans expected, but it must be admitted that it provides few innovative elements. Go to Full Review

Apr 28, 2019 Although ultimately a pure fan service film, creed 2 fits the bill when it comes to replicating the gritty nature of the original 2 Rocky films while also having the action and drama you would expect from a boxing film. Beautiful details carry this film from beginning to end and while the story may be slightly lackluster in terms of originality the acting performances shine through. Altogether a great family watch and another one for the legendary Rocky film legacy! See more
Anakin W Apr 27, 2019 A beautiful culmination of the first Creed film and Rocky IV, this film is not here to divide audiences of different generations, but it's here to unite them. See more
Apr 24, 2019 Creed 2 was not what I expected it to be and it was a huge surprise. I expected it to be predictable and cheesy. Creed 2 was actually unpredictable and the storyline kept me engaged throughout most of the movie.Creed 2 wasn't cheesy either and there was a few emotional moments in the film where I felt emotional too. I liked the character development in Creed 2 and I especially liked when I got to learn a bit more about Dragos emotions and personal life. At one stage in the movie I actually started to side with the villain. I wish I could have seen a bit more of Dragos life though. Another amazing movie from the Rocky franchise and it will probably be a classic in a few years. See more
Draco S Apr 18, 2019 4/18/2019 I remember quite vaguely watching Rocky 4 as a child, the only Rocky instalment I saw from childhood. This was a rematch of epic proportions happening more than 30 years after the match in that movie. Still, it is as predictable as it gets of course. See more
