What to Know

Critics Consensus

Its occasional use of split screen may feel gimmicky at times, but Conversations With Other Women is a bold, inventive drama carried by its two charismatic leads.

I was hooked to the screen, to the film's sense of time and place and risk, to the intelligence of the talk and the intimations of pleasure and regret in Bonham Carter's performance. Go to Full Review

The film ultimately becomes too contrived to be anything but a fleeting diversion, but kudos to these emerging filmmakers for daring to make something a little bit different and, for the most part, intriguing. Go to Full Review

The charm of Conversations With Other Women, a gimmicky but oddly moving two-character drama that flies in from who knows where, is its intelligent knowingness. Go to Full Review

...although infused with a number of truthful moments and an awfully romantic atmosphere, director Hans Canosa's use of split-screen remains a distraction throughout the film's admittedly brisk running time. Go to Full Review

Ron P Jan 23, 2019 Few days ago I wrote: "I do not mind spend some time with just two characters (Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy, anyone?) but when the characters in question are annoying the experience become way less charming." This was in regard of Blue Jay (2016). Well this movie is another example that I really do not mind. I am not sure I will remember this simple film for much long, but "Conversation(s) with other women" is an hour and a half well spent. See more
George R Jan 15, 2019 Honestly, it was quite different and I really liked the style. However, I wish it wasn't a 13-year-old movie when I just watched it. I"m normally not a fan of Helena Bonham but I was impressed this time. See more
Rey S Mar 10, 2018 Two-character drama uses a split screen to help ease the tedium.
Albus S Jul 10, 2017 Could have been terribly boring but the way it was shot made it interesting. Definitely a character piece. Great acting, well done.
Abraham M May 29, 2017 Helena was beautiful as she can get. A good casual romantic trip to the past I'd say.
Abraham R Apr 11, 2017 Two people who were a couple once in their twenties meet by chance. They spend the entire movie conversing about their life since then. The split screen was interesting. I liked it. The acting superb. Good but not great. See more
