Until now, Zak Gibbs' greatest challenge has been to find a way to buy a car. But when he discovers an odd wristwatch amidst his father's various inventions and slips it on -- something very strange happens. The world around him seems to come to a stop, everything and everybody frozen in time. Zak quickly learns how to manipulate the device and he and his quick-witted and beautiful new friend, Francesca, start to have some real fun.

Critics Consensus

A pleasant diversion for the young teens, but a waste of time for anyone older.

Sci-fi hijinks and a government conspiracy serve merely as window dressing for a ham-fisted message about the importance of good parenting and owning a car in high school.

If I were 13, I might be sufficiently entranced by the movie's bicycle stunts ... and wouldn't be wondering why ideas for science fiction films haven't progressed very far from Star Trek's first seasons all those decades ago.

The best thing to do with Clockstoppers is to make like Zak: Put it into hypertime (aka fast-forward) until you get to the good parts.

Poorly made with bad acting. It feels like a direct-to-video movie. (First and only full viewing - 1/11/2018)

I guess this movie is fine if you don't have a problem with this kind of stuff.

the premise of the movie was entertaining, but the movie was badly acted, even for a teen movie

An underrated teen film with interesting characters and a good sci-fi/time-travel concept. I recommend it if you like the time-traveling concept and Nickelodeon movies.

11/3/2017: An ok movie at best, but could have been much better. A good cast and interesting plot, but it was made a little too cheesy and PG.
