The days of canine superstar Bolt (John Travolta) are filled with danger and intrigue ... until the cameras stop rolling. But Bolt doesn't know that he's on a TV show; he thinks his amazing powers are real. When Bolt is accidentally shipped from his Hollywood soundstage to the mean streets of New York, he begins his most-amazing adventure: Armed only with his delusions and accompanied by a cat and a hamster, he sets out to find his owner, Penny (Miley Cyrus).

Critics Consensus

Bolt is a pleasant animated comedy that overcomes the story's familiarity with strong visuals and likable characters.

The jokes aren't a match for Pixar's best, and there's too much sentimentality (as if Lasseter were determined to keep Disney's cartoons just that little bit less cool than Pixar's), but this is still an above-average children's film.

The plot is sentimental fluff. But this has energy and invention enough to keep Lasseter top of the heap.

Bolt is one of the rare modern Disney films where everything truly comes together. Even with a simpler concept and a distractingly rough first joke, the film quickly pulls itself together to deliver a heartfelt and worthy viewing experience.

Despite its treatment of cats as the Rodney Dangerfield of the animal kingdom - they just can't get no respect - is solid entertainment for the whole family.

Itï¿ 1/2 1/2(TM)s funny, creative, and family friendly. Bolt is a brave dog who just wants to protect his owner from danger so many dog lovers can snuggle up with their furry best friend and watch the movie.

Brilliantly visually stunning but a little rough on the history not very interactive for young people

Perfect example for me of a perfectly acceptable film to have on in the background for mild entertainment while doing something else. Nothing really sticks out for me but then again there is nothing that I really disliked either.

Fantastic animation that flew under the radar. John Travolta's best work after Pulp Fiction. If you're a kid reading this, you'll have to make do with Bolt. Word to the wise, avoid everything else with John Travolta in it.

Nice movie, the message it's strong and intelligent. Bolt it's a story about self-acceptance and face reality. I highly recommend it.
