As sheer moviemaking, it is skilled and knowing, and deserves the highest praise you can give a horror film: It works. Go to Full Review

'...firmly set in the same universe as the first two films...Abel Ferrara's revamped Body Snatchers didn’t make the cultural impact of the other films, but it manages the same trick of using sci-fi to expose cultural raw nerves...' Go to Full Review

The short running time means that we never get to see the characters as full-blooded people -- a detriment in a movie meant to celebrate the individuality of humans. Go to Full Review

Nothing really stands out here. Nothing is memorable. It does not just feature emotionless aliens on the screen; it feels like they made the movie too. Go to Full Review

Abel Ferrara's 1994 incarnation of the body snatchers story is not the most recent. But it's the most resonant in a contemporary sense — a perfectly paranoid counterpart to its 1956 and 1978 predecessors infused with deeply unsettling reminders of loss. Go to Full Review

Han M Jul 5, 2018 By far the best adaptation of Finney's novel and the superior film version of the tale. Criminally underrated and unappreciated, any reading of social commentary regarding the setting misses the point that the more isolated a community, the easier it is to subvert. Plain and simple: This is a brilliant horror film, and perhaps Meg Tilly's best performance as the seductive, chillingly reasonable duplicate of a once-loving mother. The rest of the cast is just as skilled and engaging, and the ending will leave your skin crawl9ng for years as you recall the closing lines. Not to be missed. See more
Han L Oct 23, 2017 Once more into the breech, and this time it's not so bad at all as the alien fungus returns to take over the planet by assuming our identities once again. Who's a real human? Who's an alien replacement? Really good is how the work portrays a little kid alone in the knowledge that everyone he knows is not anybody he knows. Plus some light but effective special effects that manage the gross out portion. How did I miss this first time around? It's better than you thought it would be. See more
Theodore R Oct 21, 2017 Unnecessary and disappointing remake. Starts off boring, cliched, and full of ambiguous unnecessary narration. Far from subtle. Very meandering. The effects weren't good; cheap and not effective. The story changes weren't bad, just more contained and simple...but not well established. See more
Han R Oct 19, 2017 Such a classic. Love it
Hermione S Jul 22, 2017 23/7/2017 - Completely out classed by its two predecessors. There was no point in making this piece of shit.
Kylo R Feb 13, 2017 it could of been better but it was ok
