The plot-light nature of Bleeding Steel wouldn't be so vexing if the film's tone and story didn't seemingly shift at random. Go to Full Review

At 64, Mr. Chan is still the most talented and witty athlete in cinema. Go to Full Review

A film so brazen in its desire to reach a wide audience that it plays like a compilation of disparate action set pieces, each shamelessly stolen from successful Hollywood franchises. Go to Full Review

Jackie Chan is credited as "Excetutive Producer" [sic] in the opening credits. That pretty much tells you the amount of effort that went into this film, because Bleeding Steel is one of the worst films in Jackie Chan's career. Go to Full Review

With cartoonish villains who seem to have wandered in from a rogue superhero movie, the mixed milieus of police drama, sci-fi actioner, father-daughter relationship movie and special effects showcase don't remotely come together. Go to Full Review

Maybe this title is to Jackie Chan as Moonraker was to James Bond, an extravagant attempt to imitate the box office fare of its time, which only highlighted the throwback quality of the central character. It's a "jump the shark" moment. Go to Full Review

Apr 23, 2019 he movie is ok it does feel bland at times but if you re watch it all the way though you will understand the store better. The onlt resion it gets me a 4 sar is the costumes felt off to me See more
Harry W Mar 8, 2019 Jackie Chan has finally decided to sport the silver hair salt-and-pepper look and it looks amazing. First showing this off in his Martin Campbell directed political thriller âThe Foreignerâ?, Jackie continues the same look, maybe more stylish in the movie that followed; âBleeding Steelâ?. Bleeding Steel is a sci-fi movie, and ever since the trailer hit the internet, it was almost certain that this movie was destined to fail. It seemed to have every over the top sci-fi clichà (C)s; from whacky costumes, generic dialogues, explosions and even superpowers. Watching the movie gives you every reason not to like it. While it looks fancy and super stylish, there is nothing solidly good to the movie; not even Jackie Chan. The script is just lame, the premise is hilariously ridiculous, the dialogues are awful, the pacing is totally off, the visual effects are bad, and worst of all, the movie has no tone. Sometimes itâ(TM)s a sci-fi movie, sometimes an action movie, sometimes comedy, sometimes drama and the genres never seem to blend in at all. The characters come out as generally unlikeable; especially Show Loâ(TM)s âLeesonâ? character that comes out as unfunny and annoying. And gosh those two âself-awareâ? Jackie Chan dialogues were cringy as hell. The costume design was BAD. Note to the Costume Designer - The villains are not gonna be scary if they look that ridiculous. But if thereâ(TM)s one thing we can expect to be redeeming in a Jackie Chan movie, itâ(TM)ll be the fight scenes. And I got to admit, that while they werenâ(TM)t the best, they werenâ(TM)t bad either. The fight scenes would have been more appealing if not for those stupid outfits that the characters were dressed in. Jackie Chan gives his best in every movie, and no matter how bad the movie is, you just canâ(TM)t hate him. The problem in this movie however, is that the character development is so bland that the only reason you could like the character is cos itâ(TM)s played by Jackie Chan. In conclusion, this is a movie that just makes Jackie Chan looks like a laughingstock, and being a die-hard Jackie Chan fan, it hurts me the most to say it. Would recommend everyone to keep away from this movie. See more
Albus S Feb 20, 2019 What a disapointment was this movie; hands down one of the worst films I've seen in a long time. It makes for a solid 180 from the Foreigner which was Jackie's triumpth in 2017 this was his tragedy. This was a loud, and stupid movie with lame attempts at comedy, horrific CGI effects all around, a hard to keep track of plot, and one of the worst climax's/ending 20 minutes in a movie I have ever seen. The ending ends with a batshit bizarre 4th wall breaking pun which made no sense to me and still doesn't. Also Chan's guy ends up superhuman out of nowhere which makes no sense. Also add to it some horrific english dubbing (there's a flashback scene near the end with a horrific dubbing attempt of his daughter, it was so bad it's laughable.) Also add to it the F Murray Abraham look alike in Joker makeup it made for a laughable watch. This movie was 30 minutes too long which made the movie feel like 4 hrs instead of 2. It felt like forever to finish this movie and I felt like I lost 2 hrs of my life to it, which I did. Please Jackie at least make sure your movies have qualitty control to them from now on! See more
Anakin S Feb 10, 2019 This was classical Jackie Chan, he executively produced the film and didnï¿ 1/2 1/2 1/2 1/2(TM)t disappoint with a high action quick to the point like Rondo type of movie that built a storyline quickly, gave a plot twist that was predictable for most and connected the audience to characters. I love the 80ï¿ 1/2 1/2 1/2 1/2(TM)s and you will feel it but with futuristic guns, costumes and awesome other score-do goodness. See more
Rey G Jan 16, 2019 This movie made no sense whatsoever. To call the plot flimsy would be an understatement: There's really no explanation for most of what happens. It's one giant non sequitur. See more
Luke M Jan 4, 2019 It's alright. If you like Jackie CHan then it will be entertaining. He's actually not the comic relief in this movie. action is good but story is okay. it's somewhat like the foreigner. See more
