John Hawkins (David Caruso) used to be an officer in the Navy. Now, he whiles away his time in a small Alaskan fishing village. He begins an affair with Natalie Travis (Susan Haskell), the wife of local crime boss Gus Travis (Thomas Ian Griffith). Gus is abusive toward Natalie and -- as her affair with Hawkins unfolds -- she retaliates by stealing a fortune from her husband. This, however, places her new lover in grave danger, when the gangsters suspect John knows where the money is located.
