Whatever tension the pic manages to build ... is mostly undercut by the recurring appearance of the fish and by the generally overemphatic performances of the human cast ... Go to Full Review

As shrill as it often is, the film's situational peril makes otherwise unlikable characters sympathetic, or maybe just sympathetic enough. Go to Full Review

A proudly lowbrow, low-budget monster movie that sees nothing wrong with the cheap-and-dirty shortcuts of yesteryear. Go to Full Review

Beneath is a shrewd morality experiment that asks its audience a difficult question — what would they do if they were in the same boat — on top of showing what happens when baser instincts supersede compassion. Go to Full Review

It's all so stupefyingly disconnected from any actual human experience it almost maybe sort of spins back around on itself Go to Full Review

An entertaining B grade creature feature that's potentially better made than those forgotten films of yore it may bring to mind. Go to Full Review

Apr 13, 2018 Movie was terrible, each person was being completely stupid, bad script, bad acting, bad quality, after I watched it, I was shocked when I found out it came out in 2013, I thought it came out in the early 90s or something.(1989-1994) Who ever made this really wasted their time, it is not worth watching, go watch 47 meters down, hell, every Jaws movie is better then this. Anakin L Sep 18, 2017 With so many trashy sea monster movies out there like what you see on the sci-fi channel, it's hard to make a film with this premise stick out. This movie does just that. I think this movie is very underrated, and it disappoints me that it was panned as much as it was both by critics and by the audience. Most of the characters are unlikable and you'll probably hate most of them, but I think they were unlikable on purpose. I think the point of this movie is to detail both how far someone can be pushed to survival and the drastic measures they could be forced to take to take in order to survive. For this reason, I loved the film, because the hierarchy characterization of the protagonists makes the movie really horrifying. This movie does something you rarely see in creature features: It created horror and tension more so by the actions of the characters rather than the monster pursuing them. In addition, I loved the cinematography and the acting. My only issue with the film was that Johnny was set up to be the main protagonist, but as the film continued on, the film drew attention away from him. Although, this may have been intentional. Another viewing might change my mind. Anyways, I highly recommend this. See more
