What to Know

Critics Consensus

A gross-out comedy that is more sophomoric than funny, The Benchwarmers goes down swinging.

The Benchwarmers is better than it should have been. Only, that's not saying much. Go to Full Review

Even Jon Lovitz with a Batmobile, a dwarf attack in a playroom, and David Spade's best wig ever can't save this mawkish misfire. Go to Full Review

Just when the baseball slapstick starts wearing thin, a final-reel gush of truly cynical sentiment on behalf of the physically challenged sends the ordeal-factor off the scale. Go to Full Review

A very bad movie and that unfortunately will raise enough money at the box office to continue financing this kind of nonsense. [Full Review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

In the last line of the film, as the final credits thankfully disappear, Richie casually says "that was a waste of time wasn't it?" Yes. Definitely. Go to Full Review

Ron R Jan 16, 2019 It may not be the best, but The Benchwarmers still has enough genuine laughs to make for a fun, if cliched, baseball comedy. See more
Kylo S Aug 30, 2018 one of the best movies ever.
Jul 24, 2018 This is not a film which you watch, it is a film you experience. The jokes are not funny and the characters are forgettable, but in the right mindset you can laugh at this film. Don't go in by yourself looking for clever jokes but instead go with some friends and prepare to laugh at how truly sophomoric and idiotic it is. See more
Apr 30, 2018 Greatest movie ever this is the shit
Finn W Feb 1, 2018 I remember as a kid I loved this movie. It was super funny and very entertaining. Now as an adult I can say it's not as good. It has moments that it is super funny but other moments where I felt like I should just stop watching it. The only reason why I am not giving it half a star because I still laughed at parts in this movie. So overall I would say if you have never seen this movie give it a watch but don't expect it to be this master piece. See more
Anakin G Jan 29, 2018 one of the funniest movies ever one of the few movies you never want to end
