Unless his good films of the past were pure luck or two other guys, I don’t know what William Wellman was doing here as director. Go to Full Review

Jan 27, 2019 The best, GREATEST thrilling and inspiring movie ever made! With the best movie character ever portrayed: Gary Cooper as Michael Geste! See more
Leia P Aug 21, 2017 I haven't seen this film for about 40 years. What I always remembered was the end bit where Digby puts the sadistic sergeant at his brother's feet because Vikings always die with a dog at their feet. Watching it again 40 years later was pleasantly nostalgic, but I realise it's not a classic just a very good film. Until the end there is very little adventure to speak of, some of the characters are odd, and there are quite a few plot holes. Still, worth a watch. See more
