What to Know

Critics Consensus

A startlingly inept film, Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever offers overblown, wall-to-wall action without a hint of wit, coherence, style, or originality.

I'm having a hard time believing the words as I type them but ... it's not that bad. Go to Full Review

For many viewers, the big question may be not whether Ecks and Sever will get together, or why they are fighting in the first place, but why am I sitting here, anyway? Go to Full Review

An action film starring Antonio Banderas and Lucy Liu, Ballistic: Ecks Vs. Sever looks like a video-game promo, has a story that plays like the fifth episode of a struggling syndicated action show, and feels like a headache waiting to happen. Go to Full Review

I guess not every bad movie has a cult following in its future. Some of them are just kinda bad. Go to Full Review

If you must see Ecks vs. Sever, just go bang your head against the wall for an hour and a half. It would be the same effect. Go to Full Review

Kaos is so in love with pyrotechnics -- and so arrogant in his assumptions about his audience -- that in the first few minutes, he presents one critical car explosion without explanation, then has his characters discuss another one. Go to Full Review

Nov 29, 2018 It's alright. Not a 0% bad.
Anakin S Sep 25, 2018 this movie is the perfect example of how far we've come with action scenes and specifically fight scenes. if you compare the fight scenes in this movie with something like daredevil tv series, it's absurd how big of a difference there is. rather than being fast, hard-hitting and intense, the fight scenes are slow and lack any kind of punch (pun). there is some creativity, but not much. as for the action scenes, basically useless, bunch of slomo explosions for the sake of explosions. lots of stupid parts. very outdated, like with the exaggerated fight sound effects from old movies. the musical score was very different and was pretty cool. the story was abhorant... i dunno if i'm using that word right but that's what came to mind. Jul 25, 2018 One of my favorite movies. It's also a vehicle for technology of its day (nano robot) and info on China's one child policy. The plot could've been taken from CIA Black-operations very easily. See more
Hermione R May 11, 2018 I have no idea why this got such bad reviews. It's a really good action movie! Best line from Lucy "Some women buy shoes..." See more
Apr 16, 2018 Simply put: how did this happen? More complex: how and why did Lucy Liu and Antonio banderas even bother taking part in this dump? All I can say. See more
Hagrid R Mar 15, 2018 A victim of bandwagon jumping and, if watched with an honest eye, you'll see that this is an 80s-style action flick that works.
