It's a one‑off weirdie, offputting for whole stretches but unforgettable, not for everyone but highly recommended to the discerning.

Ultimately, this dark mirror on the world provides an extraordinary panorama of humanity and the environment in the 1990s.

This proficient film is never less than intriguing. It may be muddled, but one can't deny its ambitions, or the integrity of Hope's performance.

A proverbial cult classic that's as wild and unpredictable as its primitive central character. Please, watch this instead of Forrest Gump.

Hugely effective at best, irritating and shocking at worst, you won't ever have seen anything quite like this one.

You may not understand Bubby, but damn if you won't want to take him home with you -- if only for an hour or so.

I remember watching this when it was first released and it was hilarious! Yes very dark in parts but ultimately a fantasic piece of Australian cinema. Maybe not everyoneï¿ 1/2 1/2 1/2 1/2 1/2(TM)s go but donï¿ 1/2 1/2 1/2 1/2 1/2(TM)t take it too seriously and enjoy the journey.

Dark and intelligent. If you get through the first bleak 20 minutes, you will get into a classic. This movie is very deep with multiple themes. Bubby is an extreme Mr Bean.
