A film so supernaturally boring that light bends when passing its dense outer mantle. Go to Full Review

The whole dreary thing looks as if it was put through an Instagram filter called Rotgut that makes everything look like it was soaked in weak coffee and bile. Go to Full Review

Matthew Modine is outstanding as an amnesia-stricken bank robber in Brian A. Miller's VOD-centric thriller. Go to Full Review

Backtrace is a bare-bones action movie. It follows the beat-by-beat expectations of movies in the genre, squandering the intriguing potential of a plot about an experimental drug. Go to Full Review

After the first act, Backtrace turns into a needlessly complicated story where the characters are like carton. [Full Review in Spanish] Go to Full Review
Kevin L. Lee Film Inquiry Jan 16, 2019
It is no exaggeration to say that Backtrace was the cinematic equivalent of a headache. It's too ridiculous and underwritten to be a full-fledged crime thriller and too self-serious to be an enjoyable B-movie. Go to Full Review

Ron G Apr 17, 2019 I suffered a brain injury after watching this film.
Harry R Feb 24, 2019 Solid acting from the amnesiac, but everyone else is wooden. Stallone is hardly in it. The plot is boring as hell.
Abraham P Feb 24, 2019 Not a good film. Some good actors but a silly and messy story.
Leia M Feb 20, 2019 Ok, but basically boring. Not a good cop movie, not a good action movie, not a good suspense movie, just not good.
Kylo S Feb 19, 2019 This ended up being a suprisngly decent little DTV crime thriller with a suprisng heart to it. It didn't look like much from the outside but considering Stallone, Modine, and McDonald was in it I gave it a shot and ended up being solidly entertained by it. Modine is fantastic here as a their with a memory problem but with surprising motives. He carries the film and adds a soul to it; his Arc is moving and mostly solid. Stallone sadly isn't in it much but when he shows up he adds some class and badssery to ther movie; as does McDonald in his own way. The camera angels are kinda risky and not for everyone and it's kinda dark, plus add to it it's short running time (less than an 1hr and a half,) it's not for everyone. This easily coulda had another 15 to 20 min to it. However if you come in not expecting much you will have a good time with this. Very much a solid makeup over last night's disappointment. Backtrace is worth the Redbox rental or a DVD purchase. See more
Han R Feb 19, 2019 Terribly ridiculous and convoluted movie. Save yourself the pain and watch something else. The ending is so absurd it may have you shaking your head in disbelief and laughing (note: not a comedy!) See more
