A direct-to-video-quality actioner distinguished primarily by its star's blatantly deteriorated martial-arts prowess.

There's promise here - evidenced by the satisfying deployment of Chekhov's remote-controlled gun - but this is a losing game.

As the star of Assassination Games, Jean-Claude Van Damme makes a lot of great decisions. As the executive producer, he appears to have made fewer.

I like it. The story is quite good. Action is OK. The last scene is impressive.

Genuinely one of JCVDs stronger films in his latter years!

Well-made, briskly-paced, and surprisingly deep action flick. It's much higher quality than most JCVD direct-to-video movies, from the good performances to its layered plot; it has a Leon: The Professional vibe throughout. I would've liked to have seen more action sequences considering the martial arts talent between Van Damme and Adkins, but it's always nice to see them share the screen all the same.
