Critics Consensus

A lighthearted, gum-smacking, boy-crazy film with a hopeful message for young girls.

This fantasy comedy should entertain its pre-teen female market -- and repel those silly superficial boys (swoon). Go to Full Review

It's not going to win an Oscar or anything. But I liked how it was actually made for tween girls. Go to Full Review

Somehow everything about this film that should be Y2Cringe instead comes across with just the right combination of sweetness, naiveté, and magic. Go to Full Review

The adaptation of Hoffman's slight, breezy novel overcomplicates a lot of elements, including the introduction of a mean girl villain, but its fantasy escapism, mixed with teen feminism and dumb himbo love interest who doesn't save the day, is welcome Go to Full Review

Albus S Dec 25, 2017 well......I've seen bits of this film ,but not all of it.
Draco W Aug 15, 2017 Splashing success!!!!
Theodore S Apr 14, 2017 Think of this as like combining The Little Mermaid and a teen sappy Disney Channel movie into one and this is what you get. Aquamarine is an okay film but does have it's gullible teen moments. Predictable storyline and almost eerily similar to Disney's Little Mermaid. Cast is okay and it's your average chick flick See more
Albus G Mar 23, 2017 Emma Roberts is hot, but this movie was not. Also the movie seemed clunky and amateurish all in order to cater to pre-teen girls, I felt I didn't see much potential in a movie that combines pre-teen girl social lives and marine biology. Aquamarine played out like Unfabulous working as hard as possible to acknowledge the existence of SpongeBob Squarepants. See more
