Critics Consensus

American Teen skates some thin ice with its documentary ethics but, in the end, presents a charming and stylish (if packaged) tale.

Despite its flashy approach, American Teen remains emotionally involving because of the lives on show. You will care about these people, even if you suspect the director doesn't. Go to Full Review

Draco W Jan 28, 2017 An interesting and through provoking story of adolescence and how it is dealt with on different terms. This drama-documentary does have a touch of Hollywood to it, but it was well done in the sense of showing the audience how different kids work See more
