After park rangers capture and ship them halfway across the country, omega wolf Humphrey (Justin Long) and alpha wolf Kate (Hayden Panettiere) find themselves on a rocky road trip. Humphrey is all about fun, while Kate devotes herself to duty and discipline. Back home, rival wolves menace their pack, and only Kate and Humphrey can restore peace -- but first, they must survive each other.

Critics Consensus

With bland visuals and a dull, predictable plot, Alpha and Omega is a runt in 2010's animated litter.

The 8-12s will love it, but grown-ups may feel they've seen lots of it before (especially the caribou stampede, a shameless pinch from The Lion King.)

Here is a pleasant, undemanding animated family comedy - decent enough, but it feels like a reshuffling of dozens of films you've seen before.

The fact this is out in the same week as the fluffy owl movie beggars belief. It doesn't even belong in the same ruddy century.

The animation, coupled with a jarring use of 3D, makes for a visually unspectacular film that feels very similar to others that have come before it.

Whilst it's cliche in every way possible, uninventive, and rehashed, it doesn't claim to be anything more. Animation isn't as good as dreamworks as others have mentioned, but, it was definitely passable for a smaller production company and often had interesting and good looking visuals. Too many people seem to be expecting the second coming of toy story, but for what it is it is very good. It's a good run time as well as the story isn't too fleshed out, and it ends up feeling around 30-40 minutes which is a huge compliment as most films will start to feel a little long for me and leave me checking how long is left. Would definitely recommend it if you're able to come into it not expecting something like dreamworks at their best like everyone else here seems to be expecting.

Deeply, deeply unattractive animated characters given a dire svript punctuated by really frighteningly terrible songs. In an attempt to be cool, it is so bad its not even funny. Truly, it is one of the worst animated movies of all time.

I loved this movie! Idk how it got so much hate! People these days just expect too much and me personally, a movie doesn't have to have good animation. If the plots good then I'll enjoy the movie and this one had a good plot..so u can hate all u want but this was a great movie !!
