Though haunted by combat memories, heroic pilot Ted Striker (Robert Hays) agrees to return to the cockpit to man the controls of Mayflower One, America's first commercial spacecraft. But, as soon as Mayflower One lifts off, an electrical malfunction sends the ship veering off course. A shaken Striker struggles to guide the shuttle through a treacherous asteroid belt, tame its failing computer systems and stop the disgruntled Joe Seluchi (Sonny Bono) from detonating a deadly bomb on board.

The first five or 10 minutes of Airplane II -- The Sequel are genuinely funny -- so funny I thought maybe this movie was going to work. That turned out to be a premature hope. Go to Full Review

The only significant difference between the storyline of this film and the original is that this one takes place upon a spaceship headed toward the moon. Go to Full Review

…as sequels go, Airplane 2 has enough returning personnel and repeated jokes to pass muster; it’s not quite as good, but even with the ZAZ team, Stack and Nielsen notable absentees, it’s still got enough gags to keep things moving… Go to Full Review

Airplane II: The Sequel coasts on the goodwill of its predecessor, and while it never truly gets off the ground—or over Macho Grande—it can still deliver a few laughs when you need them. Go to Full Review

But when the two funniest bits involve Jack Jones singing The Love Boat theme and the flight crew devastated when they realize there’s no more coffee, perhaps there was a good reason there was no Airplane 3. Go to Full Review

Harry S Feb 19, 2019 This movie - despite having been critically panned - is in actuality extremely funny, and remains as full of laughs as the first. It is difficult for me to understand why the ratings have been so harsh. See more
Ron L Nov 7, 2018 This film was unwatchable.
See more
Poe G Apr 19, 2018 This is the perfect example of trying too hard. Every shot is an exaggeration of seemingly satirical fantasy while completely failing to drive home either a laugh or a point. Avoid with a plague. See more
Anakin R Apr 15, 2018 Aww...but I loved Airplane II: The Sequel. I won't deny that this film's greatest fault is trying to follow the original too closely, but it still had plenty of moments (William Shatner's role is fucking hysterical). Despite similarities to its predecessor, I think that this sequel has plenty of its own comedic bite. I think that this film is a worthy comedy in its own right and one of the most underrated comedy sequels ever made alongside Beverly Hills Cop II, Kick-Ass 2, and Anchorman 2. See more
Kylo R Jan 18, 2018 Re-hashes a lot of 'Airplane!', whose sky-high standard it unfortunately doesn't meet. Spots of originality are genuinely funny, however, and often enthusiastically push all storyline aside! Good to watch with company. See more
