Two friends' tour of Europe takes a dark turn when one of them contracts a mysterious illness. They race to find out what it is and how to cure it before the sickness consumes him completely.

Critics Consensus

It isn't without its share of clichés, but Afflicted proves there's still life in the found-footage horror genre.

"Afflicted" is as emotionally involving as a really accomplished special-effects sizzle reel.

Runs smack into a number of generic clichs, from the back-and-forth bickering about how to deal with the situation to a lazy underlying misogyny.

An entertaining genre film, presenting a handful of scenes to satisfy the gore mongers as well as those seeking a little substance.

Although "Afflicted" is light on truly frightening moments, it compensates with plenty of personality and chill.

There's no beauty or inspiration in the film's shooting style, and most importantly, no terror. If this is "ingenious" horror filmmaking, as the programme note suggests, get me off this planet.

This movie triggered my brother so much that he had me turn it off. Now that is a MOOD.

Very interesting film. It certainly ticks all the boxes for me. Although the "found-footage" genre has become generic and stale, this one is still worth checking out.

Its an interesting movie but theres nothing scary about it. The acting is ok at best. The plot is great.

Aug 25, 2018

This show doesn't even deserve half a star. It grossly misrepresents the lives of the "afflicted," and cuts out key information for the sake of a "more interesting" story, all while making a mockery of chronic illnesses, making those of us with ones seem less credible.

This "documentary" does enormous damage to those who suffer with diseases that western medicine does not yet understand. It is shameful
