Danny Robertson (Greg Kinnear) and his wife, Jennifer (Lauren Holly), are happily married, except for one major issue -- he is doubtful about having children, and she desperately wants to have a baby. When Jennifer stops using birth control and doesn't tell Danny, it puts a strain on their relationship, particularly after she discovers that they have fertility problems. Soon both Danny and Jennifer are tempted to stray from their marriage as their baby conception woes mount.

Critics Consensus

Flat and unfocused, A Smile Like Yours aims for romantic comedy but settles for tired sitcom formula.

It's the cinematic equivalent of having a saccharine-coated tongue depressor jammed down your throat.

Keith Sample's film aspires to the innocent charm of a newlywed comedy like Barefoot in the Park, but gets bogged down in witless sex jokes.

The adorable Kinnear is not doing himself any favors with overblown sit-coms like this.

A Smile Like Yours makes no one smile or cry, just wince. The script is unwieldy, and Kinnear and Holly stuggle in every frame to make characters likable.

This Movie drags on like a slow trip waiting to see The Doctor.. it's a Complete Snooze-Fest! Lame not funny and the characters make you hate them from the get go. You will fall asleep watching this movie I Guarantee It! Lauren Holly can't act her way out of a Paper bag. I have no clue why they cast her in this movie. I'm thinking Jim Carrey had something to do with it since he was a household name when this was made and the only Excellent acting in this stale sad and painfully pathetic movie is The Completely Fascinating "Joan Cusack" she is a Marvelous Actress and I absolutely adore her Voice. Sadly Ms. Cusack can not save this Sleeper Milk Dud of a Movie and Believe me Milk Duds have More Flavor!!!

Watchable but forgettable, and not much of a comedy. (First and only viewing - Fall 2007)
