Critics Consensus

A Little Bit of Heaven subjects viewers to a whole bunch of schmaltz - and strands Kate Hudson and Gael García Bernal in a fatally misguided film.

While director Nicole Kassall tried to create an independent female lead who doesn't give into stereotypes with Marley, the overall movie ultimately lacked originality, a memorable story and characters with any true purpose. Go to Full Review

Leia L Apr 28, 2019 I see the ratings, but I thought it was sweet, and very sad. I liked it.
Abraham W Mar 4, 2019 Before I begin my personal review of this movie, I would like to say that appalled would be an understatement. I don't know why this movie got the horrendous ratings it did, but I would like to stop the hatred of this movie now. Our beloved Kate Hudson comes back to treat us with another witty, heart-wrenching romance (as we have all come to expect from her). Kate and the fellow cast for this movie give us a cancer story like no other. As you watch Hudson's character (Marley) develop, you fall in love instantly. This movie has become one of my most cherished finds of all time. I have to say, I was very dismayed to see such a bad reception. The movie does drift away from the realities of cancer. AND THAT IS OK! I don't know anyone who would want to endure an entire movie of sadness and heartache without a little humor and zest?! I sure don't. Long story short, give the film a chance. You might just find that it is one of the best movies you've ever seen. See more
Luke R Feb 11, 2019 You f'ing inexperienced "tatometer" junkies need to actually learn what it is between living and dying for a person m age. I cannot believe you rated this movie 4% while the performances were OUTSTANDING and the writing was DEAD ON - you IDIOTS --yours truly, a brain tumor survivor (jackasses) See more
Poe R Aug 24, 2018 This was a really sweet movie. If you're looking for an award-winning film you're watching the wrong kind of movie so if you hated it it's your own fault. I cried so much I got a headache. It wasn't the best movie ever but it was touching and refreshing. See more
May 13, 2018 My daughter watched this while in treatment for leukemia and found it so relatable that she was in tears. She gave it to me for Mother's Day and I saw what we went through. Those who say that there is no humor in having cancer and not knowing if you will live or die do not truly understand what it's like to be there. They are guessing or they had a family member who was nothing like the character Marley. My daughter is just like her and the movie hit home for us. See more
Poe S Jan 31, 2018 It has its moments, but overall, this film lacks direction as it wanders through a woman's life who has terminal cancer.
