Some doors bring you to your past. Some doors lead you to your future. And some doors change everything. Sarah (Margot Robbie) and David (Colin Farrell) are single strangers who meet at a mutual friend's wedding and soon, through a surprising twist of fate, find themselves on A Big Bold Beautiful Journey -- a funny, fantastical, sweeping adventure together where they get to re-live important moments from their respective pasts, illuminating how they got to where they are in the present... and possibly getting a chance to alter their futures.
A Big Bold Beautiful Journey

What to Know

Critics Consensus

Too solemn to have much fun with its high concept while also too saccharine for its wistful themes to resonate, this well-meaning odyssey never quite lives up to its title.

Sorry Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell. Your movie without commas is also minus a sense of shame about how awful it is to endure this big bold beautiful botch job. Go to Full Review

I simultaneously loved this movie for what it was and yet, found myself wondering what went wrong here. But it's 24 hours later and I can't stop thinking about it. I will absolutely be watching it again, even if some people thoroughly dislike it. Go to Full Review

Finally, a movie featuring two hot people with zero chemistry and almost no plot at all. Go to Full Review

The visually lovely film is let down by a treacly, frequently dull script that trades real emotions and characters for pre-programmed mannequins and faux sentimentality. Go to Full Review
