The smooth, engaging first half descends, post-interval, into mopey melodrama, and I got impatient waiting for the inevitable resolution. Go to Full Review

"2 States" is an effort to go beyond formula while also embracing formulaic elements, including some nice song-and-dance sequences. The mix isn't right yet. Go to Full Review

Hagrid S Aug 22, 2018 Nice movie. Saw on Netflix, so was able to forward a bit especially songs. Having said, a pretty good one. Especially someone who has spent time with both cultures will truly resonate with the story line. See more

Finn L Aug 20, 2015 "2 States" is ultimately an effective movie because it has strong messages that traditional Indians need to hear. I mostly enjoyed the two romantic leads and their interactions with the parents in the movie. The movie balances comedy and drama well and finds the humor in teaching a valuable lesson. It's the type of Bollywood movie that sets out to challenge traditional people's thinking, which requires a certain level of boldness, and I admired that.  See more
