A European vacation was intended to repair the tattered relationship between American Jack (Adam Goldberg) and French native Marion (Julie Delpy). But, by the time they arrive in Paris to visit Marion's family, it is clear the trip is not going well. The city brings out aspects of Marion that only alienate neurotic Jack further, from her in-your-face politics to her former boyfriends, who surface in every café. Thus, the most romantic city in the world could mean the end of the couple's romance.

Critics Consensus

Delpy proves not only to be an adept actress, but makes her mark as a writer and director in this thought-provoking comedy that breaks the romantic comedy mold.

Actress Julie Delpy makes her directing debut with 2 Days in Paris, which is at once a gimlet-eyed love story and a refreshingly cynical take on the French character. Go to Full Review

The comedic observations are spot-on and Delpy, who in addition to directing and starring in the film also edited and composed the music, deserves plaudits. Go to Full Review

Kylo M Feb 27, 2018 Characters are unlikeable, and dialogue is a Kevin Smith rip off, and a bad one.
Poe L Nov 20, 2017 Annoyingly whiny characters, pretentious structure and nothing but critics bait. Story could have used a nuclear strike.
